Property Surveying - Roof Inspections
A roof inspection is a major part of any building survey and is possibly the most difficult area to reach. However, other issues to consider when undertaking a roof survey are the insurance and Health and Safety (H&S) implications. Neither of these organisations take kindly to the risks associated with climbing ladders and scrambling around on slippery roof structures. Aerial Close-up Ltd provides a unique service whereby the survey can be carried out whilst no one actually leaves the ground.
The vehicle can be positioned alongside the property and the telescoping mast extended to roof height and above in a matter of minutes. The remote control camera can photograph large areas of the roof and can zoom-in for close-up shots of those areas of concern. The vehicle can quickly travel around the building to photograph the roof from different angles or across the roofs of adjoining buildings if immediate access is a problem.
Stuart King of Davies King Chartered Surveyors comments: “ From an organisational point of view, it’s so easy. I made one phone call and then waited for the semi-aerial photos. Everything was done from the ground and the resulting digital images were of excellent quality. We found a problem with the roof that we never knew existed and if it wasn’t for the survey by Aerial Close-up Ltd, it’s unlikely we would have been aware of it.”
